If you have many missing or damaged teeth, Shandley Kane Dental is here to help restore your smile’s appearance and function. Our team in Hoffman Estates serves Hoffman Estates, Barrington, and the greater Chicagoland area with advanced services to rebuild teeth. Implants represent one of the most versatile tooth replacement solutions. One implant may be secured in the jawbone to replace a single tooth. Or, a few implants may be positioned to replace several teeth in a dental bridge. They may even be applied to replace a full arch of teeth as an upper or lower denture. With our “full mouth reconstruction,” we can enhance your oral health and overall well-being in just six steps.
During your initial visit, we will examine your mouth and discuss any concerns you may have and preferences for treatment. This step is essential because we need all this information to determine whether you are a good candidate for full-mouth implant dentures.
Some patients who may be precluded from treatment can opt for additional procedures. These procedures enable them to enjoy the many benefits of implants. Building up that bone with grafting may be necessary if you have bone loss in the jaw. Once the bone has been regenerated, your jaw can provide a stable foundation for both the implant and the denture that will later be attached to the implants.
We work closely with the surgeon to optimize your functional and aesthetic outcome and to maximize your comfort throughout the entire process. The surgeon will consider our final restorative goals when planning the locations of the implants. The implant placement and delivery of the interim prosthetic teeth can typically be done on the same day so you can leave with your teeth.
Once the implants are secured, we must wait for them to heal or join the surrounding jawbone. After this process of osseointegration is complete, the implants can function as designed.
The dentures that we place are designed precisely to your “specifications,” and they are made from quality materials. They do not look nor feel like the plastic “false teeth” that your grandparents or great-grandparents may have worn. We attach the denture to the implants to restore your smile’s natural appearance, function, and health. Our patients love how they can smile and laugh without holding back and don’t have to worry about their dentures falling out when they eat or speak. The implant-secured denture also provides an improved ability to chew and taste food.
While implant dentures are low-maintenance compared to conventional dentures, which require constant soaking and adjustments, that does not mean oral care can go by the wayside. We work with you to ensure that you clean the tissues that surround your implants properly. Consistent and proper home care prevents damage to the tissues surrounding your implants, which can threaten their integration into the bone. Professional cleanings are still recommended to maintain the implants and prosthetics.
