Dear Friends,

I hope this letter finds you and your family in good health and spirits. As we have shared many meaningful moments together over the years, I am writing to you today with mixed emotions to announce an important decision in my life. After 43 years of practicing dentistry in the Chicagoland area, I will be embarking on my next journey: retirement.

It has been an immense privilege and honor to serve as your dentist, and I am grateful for the trust and confidence you have bestowed upon me throughout the years. The relationships I have formed with each patient and their families have been truly rewarding, and I will forever cherish the memories we have shared.

As I start this new chapter of my life, I want to assure you that your dental care will continue to be in capable and caring hands. My esteemed colleagues, Dr. Steven Shandley and Dr. Colleen Shandley, who I have known personally (as my spouse and daughter) and professionally are both highly skilled and compassionate dentists. I have the utmost confidence in their abilities to carry on the tradition of excellence that we all have strived to maintain in our practice. During the transition, your dental care will be seamlessly transferred. Doctors Steven and Colleen Shandley will be well-informed about your unique dental history, treatment plans, and preferences as the three of us discuss and collaborate to ensure smooth continuation of your care. While I am retiring from the practice, please know that I will carry the cherished memories of our time together wherever life takes me. I genuinely hope our paths will cross again in the future. In the meantime, should you have any questions or need any assistance during this transition, please do not hesitate to reach out to our office.

I have been blessed to have loved the career I chose. I have loved the opportunity to provide my patients with help in making dental health decisions that were in the best interest of and suited to everyone’s circumstance. Please remember my passion for prevention so you can maintain stable dental health.

Thank you once again for being a part of my journey as a dentist. I wish you and your loved ones continued health and happiness. I will miss you.

With heartfelt gratitude and warmest regards,

M. Elizabeth Kane, D.D.S.
